Uses: A highly ornamental and hardy weed-suppressing ground cover, taller forms as a low wind-break or barrier. Controls foot traffic due to its prickly foliage. Suitable for, wider streetscapes, embankments, batters and parks. Requires well-drained soils. Responds well to pruning to encourage bushier growth. Attracts nectar eating
birds and insects, bird and lizard refuge.
Note: Although this species is not classified under the Sewerage Act, it is recommended that it not be planted closer than two metres to any sewer main or connection.
