Uses: Very fast growing plant from the Iris family. It's large spiky clumps are ideal for use as an accent plant near ponds or at the sides of steps, pathways and entrances. Attracts insect eating birds. The plant spreads by means of its modified stems (rhizomes), which are located below the soil surface. Propagated by dividing the rhizomes of large clumps after the flowering period or in autumn. Thie plant has become weedy in some parts of the counrty. Care should be taken when planting near native bushland.
