Small Erica from South Africa is one of the heath family of plants. Rich clusters of tubular pink flowers appear in summer. Good filler plant for rock gardens. A wide variety of cultivars are available including E. ventricosa Magnifica, E. x Pink Pearl and E. x Ruby Glow. Also other Erica species inlcude  E.caniculata and E.wilmoreana, both under 3m.
