Small pretty tree from New Zealand. Large fragrant white flowers appear in bunches in summer. Does not tolerate dry conditions and is better suited cooler areas. Fibrous inner bark was used by Maori, and early European settlers to make cord and rope. Timber was also used to make furniture. Likes rich well drained soils.
