Uses: A very attractive small tree in many Australian gardens. A very hardy plant able to tolerate most conditions.
Extensively used as a street tree in the Mediterranean and California. There are a number of cultivars available producing a variety of colours.
Can be heavily pruned every couple of years.
They can tolerate dry soils but do best with a little extra water in spring.
Easily propagated form cuttings.
Care should be taken when choosing a location for this tree as all parts of the plant are poisonous.
