Notes

Uses: As a hardy ornamental feature tree, informal hedge, screen or barrier in low traffic areas due to its prickly foliage. Leaves and flowers a little smaller than B.spinosa subsp. Spinosa. Also hairs are a little more persistent throughout all growth stages.
Responds to pruning.
Butterfly attracting.
Cultural use: Wood used by indigenous peoples for making boomerangs.

Note: This species is provisionally classified schedule 2 by SA Water and requires written approval before being planted in any street or drainage area. It should not be planted closer than 3.5 metres to any sewer main or connection.
