Uses: Ornamental plant with well displayed flowers. Specimen plant or wind-break. Requires very well-drained soils. Attracts nectar eating birds and insects. As with most Australian proteacea species is phosphorous intolerant.
Note: Although this species is not classified under the Sewerage Act, it is recommended that it not be planted closer than two metres to any sewer main or connection.
